I will confess, I am new to timeshare. As I write this post, I am just over 90 days into my timeshare experience, and I still have A LOT to learn. That is what brought us here.
As you can imagine, I have been drinking from a firehose. I am lucky enough to be surrounded by a large number of timeshare industry companies and people spanning everything from legal and compliance to sales and marketing. I consider myself a smart person and figured getting up to speed would be easy with all these people ready to help.
What I did not count on was the large amount of information about timeshares, timeshare exit, and every other topic related to timeshare that is flat out wrong. Some of that incorrect information is being produced on purpose. Some of that incorrect information is just people who are misinformed.
I also felt that if I was confused then timeshare owners were equally confused, particularly about their options when their timeshare ownership comes to an end. Whether that end comes during the recission period or after decades of timeshare ownership it is doubtful they ever considered what they would do when they wanted to cancel their timeshare.
That is why I am excited to be a part of the Timeshare Consumer Protection Center (“TCPC”). This organization is designed to do something that no other website is doing, give timeshare owners the entire truth – the good, the bad, and even the ugly – about their options when exiting their timeshare.
My promise to you is that the information on this site will be accurate and fair. I don’t know about you, but I hate being confused… but not as much as being lied to. Let’s fix both problems!
